Juliette – A French Themed Traveler’s Notebook Junk Journal
Juliette my French Themed Traveler’s notebook Junk Journal was inspired by a Eastern robe garment I found at a thrift store. I absolutely love to find items and use them to create a junk journal. I saw sparkly gold fabric peeking out of the edges of this robe and it immediately drew me in. This is all I need to get my inspiration going, ideas immediately pop to mind. My Inspiration The colors for this journal were dictated by the gorgeous pink and gold trim. First off, I gathered additional fabrics, trim, journal pages, vintage ephemera, jewelry and images that coordinated. Cover Construction The dimensions for this travelers notebook style…
Traditional Vintage Holiday Junk Journal
I love the holidays, and what better to celebrate by creating a junk journal with a classic vintage theme. My inspiration comes from seeing decorations in stores, magazines, thrift store treasures, Pinterest posts, Instagram reels and YouTube videos. My go to is usually some sort of vintage theme. As you can see with this junk journal, the traditional reds and green play a staring role in the color scheme of this journal. Gold, cream, burgundy and tan postcards, tags, journaling cards and Christmas cards offset and highlight the reds and greens in this journal. What would one of my junk journals be without lace, jewelry, trim and doilies to adorn…
Victorian Sunset Junk Journal
My Inspiration The inspiration for this Victorian Sunset themed junk journal came from a custom order. The request was for a Victorian theme using all the colors of the sunset. Orange was the main color for this journal along with complementary colors of yellow, gold, burgundy, green and cream. I like to start each of my journals with a focal piece. Something to base everything else on. In this case, it was some upholstery fabric I recently got from a thrift store. Using this piece, I gathered all my other fabrics, laces, appliques, trims ribbons and papers that coordinated with the fabric. As you can see, there is not any…

I did not have a theme in mind for a journal, so I let my scraps guide me and let my creativity flow. Vintage French Folio Junk Journal
My Inspiration Two French tapestries I purchased at my local thrift store were my what inspired me for this junk journal. These two beauties measured approx. 10″ x 10″ each. I knew I did not want to cut or fold them in half, so it took me a while to come up with a folio style junk journal. This way each image was able to be viewed in its entirety, showcasing their beauty. What is a folio? Basically, a folio is a journal that folds over from the left side then the right is folded back so that it partially overlaps the left. The base of this journal was an…
Around the Christmas Tree Junk Journal
My Inspiration As you all know, I absolutely love scouring flea markets and thrift stores. Whenever I go on a trip, I make it a point to look up thrift stores in the area I am visiting. On a trip last year with my girlfriends, they tagged along with me to a small thrift store in Glenwood Springs, CO. Once inside, I asked them to help me look for anything vintage in all areas of the store. My friend found a Christmas record album from the 1950’s. It was titled Around The Christmas Tree. I instantly knew I had to purchase it, even though at the time I had no…
A Touch of Red Shabby Chic Christmas Junk Journal
I have been concentrating on my holiday journals. Christmas is right around the corner! On my YouTube channel, I created a shabby chic junk journal cover from a white corrugated cardboard box. Since the cover theme was neutral, mainly with cream, off white and beige, the finished cover with added embellishments could be used for all sorts of junk journals…. wedding, valentines, winter or Christmas. I considered all of these options…. Then, when I added a vintage red bow pin to the center, my mind was made up! Shabby Chic Christmas was my theme! Cover construction As I mentioned before, I used a corrugated cardboard box for the cover. I…

The inspiration hit me right there – create a GOTHIC GLAM JUNK JOURNAL using the satin, tulle, beading and rhinestone trim! This gown would certainly be the star of this gothic glam junk journal! The kicker? It was $1.00!! Hard to believe right? Here…
Lovely Ladies Vintage Junk Journal
My inspiration My vast collection of vintage images cut from magazines, old photographs, and calendar pictures all inspired me to make a junk journal featuring the lovely ladies from the past. I decided on a red/white/black theme with a few animal prints because to me, this combination is both glamorous and timeless. Below are some images that I included in this junk journal. The cover This journal started out from a vintage book. I removed the spine and all the interior pages. The front and back cover were perfect for this journal. I mod podged vintage style scrapbook paper to both sides of each of the book covers. I decided…
