Traditional Vintage Holiday Junk Journal

I love the holidays, and what better to celebrate by creating a junk journal with a classic vintage theme. My inspiration comes from seeing decorations in stores, magazines, thrift store treasures, Pinterest posts, Instagram reels and YouTube videos.

My go to is usually some sort of vintage theme. As you can see with this junk journal, the traditional reds and green play a staring role in the color scheme of this journal. Gold, cream, burgundy and tan postcards, tags, journaling cards and Christmas cards offset and highlight the reds and greens in this journal.

What would one of my junk journals be without lace, jewelry, trim and doilies to adorn the pages? I chose many of these items and added them throughout the journal to add that extra special touch. My favorite is the vintage Christmas tree brooch on the cover.

Below are some of the pages from the journal. Many of the graphics I used are from the Graphics Fairy Premium membership: https://thegraphicsfairy.com/

I created a few fancy embellishments for this journal as you can see here:

My goal was to incorporate some YouTube tutorials I have published so that I can share the process with you. Here are the links to the tutorials along with a flip through of the finished journal.

Happy Holidays to everyone! I look forward to 2023 and tons more junk journals, tutorials and blog posts!

Glitter on,

I am a self proclaimed junk journal fanatic and creative crafter. If it is vintage, I am in! I recently retired from the corporate world and now have more time to devote to my love of creating one of a kind treasures. Besides junk journals my hobbies include thrifting, flea market outings, fashion, cooking, hanging with my girlfriends and daughter and golf with my husband. I currently live in the mountains of beautiful Colorado.
